Ask me about…
Howdy!
My name is Alex and I studied UX Design at Hyper Island.
I’m a hobby novelist, professional disc golfer and musician, as well as an ex-teacher.
In 2018, I walked into an old, neglected building that belonged to a music school which, just like the building, was at the edge of a precipice—falling apart, student by student, from the lack of organizational structure, customer and employee trust, and without the trace of a goal.
Not a single student showed up that day.
Over the next 2 years, I worked my way up from teacher to local manager to external CEO.
When I was promoted to local manager, we had less than 30 students in Skåne and over half of them were mine. I learned that we had a branch in Stockholm, too, with a handful of teachers and another 30 students.
When I left in 2023 to pursue my studies, I left a school with over 250 students and 30+ employees. We had individually-tailored lessons, a 2-year music program, student concerts, and a goal to deliver high-quality music education to aspiring musicians with the ambition to break into the music industry.
I’ve always loved working with people and I feel like my calling in life is to guide, inspire, and bring out the best in others—and through UX I’ve found the perfect medium to see that goal through.
Being a Musician
I started to play piano at the age of 9, sing when I was 13, play guitar when I turned 16, and play in a band at 18.
Growing up Trilingual
I’ve spent a significant part of my life in Taiwan, where I feel just as much at home as I do in Sweden.
Birding
Ever since I was a child, I’ve been obsessed with all kinds of life forms, especially birds.
Indulging as a Hobby Novelist
I love writing fiction and I’m working on finishing my first novel :)
Creating my own Game
I’ve always been fascinated by game & world design.
